![]() ![]() I'm open to any suggestions or advice that anyone has, bearing in mind what I've said above. So far, the problem has still not been resolved. One possibility I have found by Googling is that there may be some piece of software, adware or spyware of which I am unaware which consistently deletes a necessary file component. Quite what is causing this, I don't know. The error message 1935 with HRESULT: 0x80070002 means that the system is unable to find the specified file. The basic problem is with Microsoft Visual C++ 2005, which Corel VideoStudio needs to operate. ![]() *I have tried running a comprehensive chkdsk, and cleaning up the registry, but it doesn't solve the problem. Upon successful install, re-install Rhino. Go to download location and install the redistributable (s). Download the vcredistx86.exe and vcredist圆4.exe for 64-bit OS. Download the vcredistx86.exe for 32-bit OS only. ![]() *I have tried uninstalling potentially obstructive software - quite a lot actually - but the problem persists. Go to the Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package MFC Security Update page. *I have tried temporarily disabling anti-virus and anti-spyware software and installing as admin, but no dice. *I have tried running as admin, but it makes no difference. Under advice from the Corel website and technical support: Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable - x86 9.17 Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable - x86 9.4148 Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable - x86 9. Just to bring you up to speed, as I see there have been some further replies. My advice would be to try the above steps before contacting technical support, as - if it doesn't solve the problem - it will at least narrow it down. I hope this saves others some time and effort. Technical Support will scrutinise the produced files and hopefully locate the underlying issue. This, too, was unsuccessful.ģ) I am now going through a process of auditing the system using Winaudit to find the source of the problem. This was unsuccessful.Ģ) I was then advised to set up a new admin account, log in to that, and attempt re-installation. If it's use to others who have the same problem, I'd just like to share the process I've been through:ġ) I have been advised to temporarily disable User Account Control, as well as firewall and anti-spyware & antivirus software, reboot, and re-attempt installation. I am told that the most likely explanation is that one of Windows' very strict settings is blocking the installation. Of course, I'm aware that it can't be what it looks like. ![]()
